Established in 1988 the school is based in a newly refurbished Georgian building in the heart of the city, close to shops, restaurants and transport.

The school has:

The school has an active and varied social programme, organising weekly activities such as cinema nights, museum or gallery visits, music nights, greyhound racing evenings and pub visits. There are offer weekend trips to other cities and tourist destinations in Ireland.

Courses

Communication is key to the teaching method. It plays a central role in all classes to help students improve in the 5 key areas of English; Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking and Pronunciation. All teaching staff are qualified and experienced and make the learning environment dynamic and vibrant.

There is a low student-to-teacher ratio to ensure that your individual needs will be met. Supportive teachers employ the best known techniques and activities and Social events and activities are an important aspect of learning English in Ireland.

Upon entering the school students are tested to establish their accuracy and fluency. Every student’s progress is monitored and they receive continuous assessment.

In each level and class there is daily error correction and students learn through the mistakes that everyone in the class makes, including their own. There are weekly tests and feedback sessions every Friday. The tests are corrected by peer review and the results given immediately by the teacher.

Type of courses

For students at all levels, from Beginner to Advanced. This is a fun and dynamic course with real world practice. Specially designed lessons encourage participation and allow students to accomplish their learning objectives. The lessons focus on the 5 main skill-sets (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking & Pronunciation). Students learn English for communication in the real world.

Students can choose between the morning course or the intensive course, with classes in both the morning and the afternoon. Students can also choose between 15, 20 or 30 hours of classes a week. The intensive, 30 hours a week course is recommended for students who wish to improve their English as much as possible in a short amount of time.

The courses last from 1-25 weeks.

EVENING CLASSES
The school offers a part-time General English evening class course which takes place on Monday and Wednesday from 7 pm until 9 pm. The course lasts from 2-12 weeks.

Time and Days of the week where the course is taught - Monday to Friday 09.30 am to 12.45 pm, 13:45 until 17:00pm, Monday and Wednesday 7-9pm

English for business courses help to improve communication in the work place. Beginning with adapted language for a range of employment and executive areas, the courses are designed to rapidly improve your ability to interpret data, interact and converse with clients, and improve vocabulary for in house and client meetings.

Individuals or groups can be prepared to sit the external BEC examination, held at intervals throughout the year. Online Learning Courses are also available so your learning can be assessed at a distance and your study time managed by you

The school offers preparation for both the general and academic IELTS exams, either in the afternoon or evening. The IELTS test is divided into five main sections:

• Academic Reading
• Academic Writing
• General Training Reading
• General Training Writing
• Speaking Section

The preparation course will comprehensively cover all aspects of the examination. Using past papers, examples, and drawing on our teaching and assessment, the school ensures you are well positioned to pass the exam.

The afternoon course runs for 1-12 weeks

EVENING CLASSES
The IELTS evening course runs from 12-24 weeks on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
