Personal attention and quality teaching

The School has a weekly program of varied activities providing an opportunity to have fun, practice your English and meet American people. At weekends there are excursions to places such as the Bahamas, Key West, Cape Kennedy and Disney World. There are also organised evening activities featuring visits to restaurants, pubs, theatres and cinemas. The Executive Program includes evenings of concerts, plays or recitals depending upon the season schedule.


The approach to teaching is learner-centred. Teachers focus on student needs, interests and goals. The curriculum uses contextual learning, making the most of the real world to increase your fluency. English is always spoken in the school and you are encouraged to participate actively in cultural activities and fully benefit from your visit to the U.S.

Students are assessed and placed in the right level of class for them. There is a special program of study for each level and the grading system enables you to change to the next level when you are ready. There are eight levels of study from Beginner to Mastery. Teachers and counselors will check your progress throughout the course and make sure you are learning effectively. Regular counseling sessions with your teacher monitors your progress. Each class has a weekly review of course work and a test to check your progress.

The school uses the latest teaching technology. It has a Media Lab with TV/VCRs, language-learning software and CD-Rom facilities for individual and class use.

Type of courses

Course duration is 2-52 weeks. There is a choice of 10-30 lessons a week. Absolute beginners are asked to take a course of private lessons until they reach the A1 level. The maximum class size for the standard General English course is 12. The school also offers an option of learning in a smaller class of 5.

The course focuses on Business English and American corporate culture. There are 20 lessons a week and you will learn financial and banking terms, write reports and practice your business negotations and presentations skills. There are specialist options of English for law, aviation,oil & gas, finance & business and HR. An additional 5 or 10 weekly private lessons are available where you can focus on your specific professional language needs. The private lessons can be scheduled at your convenience during school hours: Monday to Friday.

You will practice your English in simulated business situations and role-play. Specific training is given in developing presentation and negotiating skills. Courses last from one week upwards. Maximum class size in each executive class is 5. Minimum age is 21 years. The school offers the TOEIC and Cambridge Business English tests.

Fort Lauderdale is a sunny city with a tropical climate. It is on the Atlantic coast of America and has a strong maritime culture, with a large port, marinas, canals and beaches on offer.

The school is on Las Olas Boulevard, the city’s main street, with shops and art galleries close by. It is across the street from the Museum of Art and the county library. It is walking distance to the riverfront entertainment centre and shopping district. The city is also home to Sawgrass Mills - the world's largest discount mall.

A 7-minute bus ride from the school takes you to the beach. The beach offers jet-ski and parasail rentals and is equipped for beach volleyball. Fort Lauderdale has more than 3,500 restaurants offering a wide variety of American and international food. At night you can dine out and enjoy watching the parade of yachts as they slowly pass by.

The Broward Center for the Performing Arts features many Broadway shows including smash hit musicals like "Phantom of the Opera" and "Les Miserables," There are a variety of outdoor festivals to enjoy, such as the Lousiana Zydeco Festival, Jazz in the Park and the Air and Sea Show. The Fort Lauderdale Boat Show has become the largest boat show in the world and attracts thousands of international visitors
