Auckland is a good choice. Not only is Auckland the biggest city in New Zealand, it is also one of the most beautiful places in the world. Students have attended here for over 40 years.

Students from more than 17 countries choose New Zealand as their
destination to study English. The majority of them come from Brazil,
Japan and Thailand. The school has 23 classrooms and regularly have between 100 and 220 students. The minimum age of students accepted by the school is 16 years, but the average age of those who attend is 23-24 years.

There are computers with free internet access available for anyone to use. Students can bring their own computers, but they must make sure they are charged; they are not allowed to charge them at school.

Courses

On the first day at the school, students take tests in speaking, listening, writing, reading, and vocabulary. They are placed in a group to match their language needs. They take weekly written and oral tests to measure their progress.

Students have an orientation session, where they are given information about the school and the city. They also receive a Student Card so they can get discounts around the city, in the same way as native students.

LSI Auckland, like many schools, use interactive methods to aid
learning. Students work in pairs, they do group work, role play, project work and games.

Students can expect to use, CDs, DVDs and websites as part of their
lesson. These methods help students to absorb the language
effortlessly. They experience the English language in many ways and
learn how to use it in different settings.

Location
10-12 Scotia Place, Auckland, New Zealand

The centre of Auckland is interesting, because it has a mix of business and residential accommodation. It is known as the ‘City of Sails’ because it has two harbours. The city has a rich mix of cultures, so students who choose to study in Auckland quickly feel right at home. Because the school is in a central location, students are never far away from a place of interest. Many of these places are within walking distance of the school and residences, although the city has an excellent public transport system. There are many cafés and restaurants where students can get to know each other socially. One of the teachers will often accompany students, meaning they can get help with their English language skills in a relaxed setting. Having a teacher with them makes it easy for students to get around, as the teacher often acts as a tour guide.
