ILSC Brisbane is a large and modern school situated in the heart of one of Australia’s most laid-back and multicultural cities.

The ILSC education group has school locations worldwide, combining excellent facilities with 24 years’ experience in teaching English.

The ILSC Brisbane Campus is housed in across one floor of a modernised building overlooking a beautiful park, just two minute’s
from the city’s Central Railway Station. The school has 21 modern and spacious classrooms, a student lounge, kitchens, computer lab and two outdoor patios where students can relax in the sunshine.

All ILSC schools offer a wide range of unique courses to suit every need and interest. Most courses are offered to all abilities and give students the opportunity to mix and match their subjects every 4-6 weeks.

The ILSC Brisbane welfare team organises trips to Brisbane’s famous Gold Coast as well as to Tangalooma Island Resort. Students are housed in furnished shared apartments or through the school’s extensive Homestay program.

Courses

ILSC schools offer a unique range of courses which allow students to choose their schedule then ‘build’ their own English language learning path. Students can select options from a vast range of core subjects which include, Communication, Listening and Speaking Excellence and then add elective subjects covering a large variety of subjects.

Learners at ILSC Brisbane benefit hugely from this flexible program as they can choose specific courses tailored to their individual needs. This student-centred teaching approach allow students to bring their own passions and interests into the classroom, boosting overall fluency and confidence.

ILSC Brisbane’s teachers are all university educated native English speakers, with relevant teaching qualifications. Teaching staff give continuous support throughout courses and are carefully selected for their ability to motivate and inspire English language learners.

Type of courses

ILSC schools allow students to follow their own learning path. The core General English curriculum can be supplemented with a choice of over 70 courses, skills electives and targeted programs.

Every 4-6 weeks, students are able to change their schedules according to their learning needs. Core courses include General English skills (speaking, listening, writing and reading), Exam preparation (IELTS, TOEIC, Cambridge Assessment), Business English and many, many more. Students can then supplement their program with one or two courses from the large choice of electives on offer.

‘Build-your-own’ schedules at ILSC Brisbane are divided into:

● Full-time: 25 lessons per week (choice of 1 morning course and 1 afternoon course).
● Full-time Intensive: 31 lessons per week (choice of 1 morning course and 2 afternoon courses).
● Part-time AM: 17 morning lessons per week (choose 1 course).
● Part-time PM: 13 skills elective lessons per week in the afternoons.
● Full-time EVENING: Four hours of lessons (limited choice of courses) in the evening - choose 1 course.

Time and Days of the week where the course is taught: All courses are taught at the ILSC Brisbane school building from Monday to Friday from 09.00 to 12.00 (AM courses), 13.00 to 16.00 (PM courses) and 16.45 to 21.00 (Evening courses).

Lesson duration: 50 minutes

Course certificate: Certificate on completion of a four-week course.

ILSC Brisbane offer a wide variety of Business English Courses which students can combine with core general courses. Business courses include: Business English, Business English Cambridge, Business Interview Skills, Business Presentation Skills, Business Writing and English for Marketing. Students can choose any business course as their skills elective lesson in the afternoon. Courses focus upon language used in the global workplace and promote fluency in all areas of business communication.

Most ILSC business courses are open to students with intermediate language ability and above. Business courses can be combined with other ILSC courses, according to the language goals and interests of individual students.

ILSC Brisbane is located two minute’s walk from Brisbane Central Railway Station, close to all the attractions the city has to offer. Brisbane is Australia’s third largest city and is the capital of the state of Queensland. This modern and laid-back city is set on the Brisbane River and is close to Australia’s famous Gold Coast which is known as a surfer’s paradise. Students will enjoy Brisbane’s year-round sub tropical climate and great culture, music, shopping, arts and more. Looming over the city is Mount Coot-tha - site of sprawling Brisbane Botanic Gardens - with panoramic views from its summit. Further afield, the Gold Coast is home to the Dreamworld, Sea World and Wet’n’Wild theme parks as well as a huge variety of watersports and outdoor pursuits. Public transport in Brisbane is provided by bus, rail and ferry services and Brisbane’s International Airport is located north east of the city centre.
