The school is a modern spacious centre based in a 4 story historic building. It is in the heart of Oxford with a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants a minute from the door. It is a 5 minute walk to most bus stops and 10 minutes to the train station.

The social programme includes activities like ice skating and trips to the Ashmolean museum, natural history museum, the historic colleges of Oxford and Oxford Castle.

Courses

The school follows an interactive teaching methodology to make
lessons interesting, engaging and enjoyable and bring English to life. To put English into an everyday context teachers use TV, the Internet and interactive games.

The school has Wi-Fi enabled classrooms with interactive whiteboards, digital media and materials to access both carefully
graded materials and real world English. Class work is topped up with graded homework and field trips and activities to help you bring your English to life within the local community. This provides a complete experience as you learn English everywhere you go.

Qualified teachers help students stay focused and make steady
progress with personal learning plans, an e-portfolio of your work, an entry and exit test, a weekly test and review and a monthly test with a report.

Type of courses

For students at Elementary level and upwards, General English is a structured programme to suit all levels. It develops essential speaking, listening, reading and writing skills for everyday use. The standard programme is 20 lessons a week. It follows a core syllabus to improve grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation as well as speaking, listening and writing skills, with specific outcomes at each level. The intensive programme is 28 lessons a week and combines the core general English programme with 8 elective classes. It enables you to study in more depth, to improve in a particular area to make faster progress and to customize your course to focus on an area of interest.

Electives include:

 Building Vocabulary - study techniques to help you increase, remember, store and retrieve new vocabulary.
 Grammar practice – tailored to your level of understanding
 Perfect your pronounciation - Improve your ability to understand spoken English and be understood. Learn about the pronunciation problems of speakers of your mother tongue
 Communication skills - Learn what to say in everyday social situations at elementary and intermediate levels.  Expand your public speaking and presentation skills at intermediate and advanced levels
 IELTS exam preparation – exam skills and practice tests to improve your confidence

The maximum class size is 15. The minimum age is 16. The course lasts from 1-50 weeks.

For students with Intermediate Level English or above who want to learn the English needed for university or working internationally. In as little as 4 weeks the school can give you the skills and strategies to get a good result. Teachers prepare you with an analysis of the exam, with exam skills training, and with practice tests, to help you feel confident and ready on the day you take the exam. On the course you will learn effective exam strategies and become familiar with the UK accent. You can take 20 Exam preparation lessons or 20 exam lessons plus 8 elective lessons to speed up your progress. Elective lessons include: Improve Grammar and Communication Skills You can also take 8 exam preparation lessons as an elective option with the General English course.

The course lasts from 4 weeks upwards. Maximum class size is 15. Minimum age is 16.
